From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Research can be defined as the search for knowledge or any systematic investigation to establish facts. The primary purpose for applied research (as opposed to basic research) is discovering, interpreting, and the development of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide variety of scientific matters of our world and the universe. Research can use the scientific method, but need not do so. Scientific research relies on the application of the scientific method, a harnessing of curiosity. This research provides scientific information and theories for the explanation of the nature and the properties of the world around us. It makes practical applications possible. Scientific research is funded by public authorities, by charitable organizations and by private groups, including many companies. Scientific research can be subdivided into different classifications according to their academic and application disciplines. Artistic research, also seen as 'practice-based research', can take form when creative works are considered both the research and the object of research itself. It is the debatable body of thought which offers an alternative to purely scientific methods in research in its search for knowledge and truth. Historical research is embodied in the scientific method. The term research is also used to describe an entire collection of information about a particular subject. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How does market research apply to property management? Q. My mom wants to get into property management and the job descriptions all include "market research"? What kind of market research would you do for apartment buildings? She was a property manager for 3 buildings for 27 years and she never did or even heard of such a thing. What kind of background do you have to have? Asked by Mountain Mike - Thu Feb 12 22:47:02 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. Market research in this case means a basic knowledge of the housing market (rentals) in your area. It might include knowing strategies to improve a complex, or buildings profitability, or how to persuade the tenants to be more timely in their payments. It's not any one skill set, but several. In other words, the days of simply collecting rent are over. But if your mom is a quick study, she might be able to persuade them to give her a try, based on her previous experience. Good luck to her! Answered by Lisa S - Fri Feb 13 00:08:25 2009 How long does it take a junior research analyst to move up to different levels? Q. Equities research. Is biomedical lab research just a sub-field of medical research? They are both listed as different careers in the same category of medicine. I'm interested in working in the medical lab as a career, but are there different requirements for either careers? And what other opportunities are there for someone who is interested in the medical lab? Asked by Jaime F - Sat Nov 8 22:34:17 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A.
